Roots of the Reading is where your journey with the cards begins, not with memorization, not with rigid rules, but with history, context, and the lived experience of actually sitting with a deck in your hands and letting it speak.
In this in-person half-day workshop, we start at the beginning. We trace the origins of tarot and oracle cards; where they came from, how they evolved, and why they have endured as tools of self-inquiry and inner wisdom across centuries and cultures. From there we move into practice; exploring both the technical language of the cards and the intuitive reading style, so you understand not just what the cards mean, but how to develop your own authentic relationship with them. We also explore the meaningful differences between tarot and oracle decks, and how each serves a different kind of question.
You will leave with your own tarot deck, a binder of reference materials and handouts to build on over time, and a genuine foundation, not just information.
This is the first class in the Roots of the Reading series at Wise Path. Each class in the series stands beautifully on its own, and flows even more richly when taken in sequence.
